Opening the Target/Schedule Page

The Target/Schedule page displays staffing information as graphs to facilitate making staffing decisions for the direct caregivers configured for Demand and Patient Events.

Complete the following steps to open the Target/Schedule page:

1. From the Demand menu, select Target/Schedule. The Target/Schedule page opens.
2. Select a date from the Calendar. The default is today's date.
3. If your organization has more than one facility, select the one you want to view from the Facilities menu.
4. Select one or more profiles from the Profile tree. As you select profiles, you also select all locations for those profiles by default. To omit a location, deselect its check box. To select all profile check boxes, click the Select link. To deselect all profile check boxes, click the Clear link. You can only select one profile if you intend to select one of the Ratio views (see below).
5. Select one or more Global Skills. To select all Global Skills check boxes, click the Select link. To deselect all Global Skills check boxes, click the Clear link.
6. Select Graph Options.
   1. Select an option from the Historical Data menu. The page can display from 1 to eight weeks of data, with the default on first login being 6 weeks.
   2. To display the Retrospective Average, select its check box.
   3. To display the Demand History, select its check box.

   4. To change the View, select an option from the View Menu.

      1. Caregivers with Util as Target/Schedule: Selecting this option creates the graph using the number of caregivers for your selected Global Skills and calculates Utilization as the Target number of caregivers divided by the Scheduled number of caregivers.
      2. Ratio with Util as Schedule/Target: Selecting this option creates the graph using the ratio of caregivers (for the selected Global Skills) to patients. Demand Manager calculates the Caregiver to Patient ratio by dividing the number of patients by the number of caregivers at the top of each hour. Selecting this option results in the calculation of Utilization as the Scheduled ratio divided by the Target ratios.
      3. Ratio with Util as Schedule/Budgeted: Selecting this option creates the graph using the ratio of caregivers (for the selected Global Skills) to patients. Demand Manager calculates the Caregiver to Patient ratio by dividing the number of patients by the number of caregivers at the top of each hour. Selecting this option results in the calculation of Utilization as the Scheduled number of caregivers divided by the Budgeted number of caregivers.
7. Click Go. The page displays the graph created by your selections.
