Viewing Staffing Needs on the Request Administration Page

Staffing needs are defined as the staff number designated for each task by day of week. Staff Manager updates the staffing needs shown on the Request Administration page as approved requests and staffing changes are made to the schedule in Staff Manager Client.

Complete the following steps to show staffing needs:

  1. From the Schedule menu, select Administer Requests. This opens the Request Administration page.
  2. Select Show Needs to display and highlight the difference between the number of employees scheduled for each task and the staff number as set in Staff Manager Client (from the Maintain menu, select Assignment Info and then click the Task tab and look for the Staff Number section at the bottom of the dialog box).
  3. Depending on the number of tasks, you may need to scroll down to view all staffing needs.

The Show Needs check box is only available if you have configured the Request Administration page to display it. See Configuring the Manager View for more information.

How the Show Needs Check Box Affects the Request Administration Page

When you select Show Needs, any date that needs additional staffing displays a yellow highlight and the number of additional staff needed. When you deselect Show Needs, the page displays the staff scheduled by task, which helps you manage work and non-work tasks.
