Viewing a Patient's Pattern History
Note: Your Staff Manager configuration may not include this optional application. To add this application to your configuration, contact your Clinical Consultant or Client Advocate.
Complete the following steps to view a patient's pattern history:
- From the Demand menu, select Patient Pattern Management. The Patient Pattern Management page opens.
- Click the History icon
to the left of the patient's name. The Patient Encounter Information window opens. The Patient Event History tab is active by default.
- Click the Patient Progress Pattern tab to open it.
- Click Show History. The Patient Pattern History window opens.
This window allows you to see changes to the patient's assigned pattern over time. The window includes the following information:
- Assigned Date/Time: The effective date and time of pattern assignment or date change.
- Pattern: The Pattern abbreviation. If the patient has a DRG pattern, the abbreviation is preceded by the letter D. You can place your cursor over the abbreviation to see the full pattern description.
- Criteria: The type and criteria used to assign pattern. Positioning your pointer over a criterion link displays a description of that criterion in a tooltip.
- If the pattern is DRG-based, this cell displays DRG and the value, such as DRG:190.
- If the pattern is based on an ICD code, this cell displays I and the code, such as I: 36.0.
- If the pattern is based on a diagnosis, this cell displays D and a text description, such as D: Congestive Heart Failure.
- If the pattern is based on an admit reason, this cell displays A and a text description, such as A: Chest Pain.
- If the pattern is Location-Based, this cell displays LOCATION.
- Source: The origin of the pattern change; options are Auto for patterns assigned automatically assigned by Demand Manager and Manual for changes made by users.
- User: The name of the person who saved the assigned pattern change. This cell is blank when the pattern source is Auto.
